VD Gone Viral

Happy Manufactured Day that Really Doesn’t Mean Anything Except to Extort Things from Men with the Threat of Withholding Sex If Women Don’t Get What They Want Which Most Often Is an Engagement Ring or a Promise of a Monogamous, Long-Term Relationship Complete with Children and a House in the Suburbs, Oh, and a Dozen Roses Delivered to Her Office to Make her Coworkers Envious that She has Such a Thoughtful Boyfriend Who Felt that He Had to Send Her Flowers Because of the Date on the Calendar!!!

And Many Happy Returns of the Day! Unless she has to return what your sorry ass messed up as “the perfect gift” in which case you won’t be getting any for a month. Or until you grovel in front of her and her friends.

[I'm not hating on Valentine's Day. I'm just wondering why there are so many expectations for one single day.]

  1. As an old maid with no flowers, candy, or piece of celebratory ass on my horizon...VALENTINES DAY SUCKS!!!

  2. I think holidays created by greeting cards are pernicious. My philosophy is really pretty simple. I think you should treat the people you care about each day with kindness and that the best gifts are non tangible.

  4. I've been reading a lot of blogs today that are really down on VDay. Maybe I'm a pollyanna about Vday. Though I don't really expect anything or to get to go out becuz we eat out so much anyway that it's not really a special thing.

We celebrate Feb 9th which is anniversary of our first kiss. I expect gifts!

What do I "do"? I strive for perfect comfort. Not easily achieved! And lots to bitch about.

  5. I can't help but laugh hahaha. What a funny and a lot of times very true post. As for me, no man on the horizon, only 2 furry cats, so I can sing and dance and yell out the window, "HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY", and actually mean it :D
